Team Teach – Positive Behaviour Strategies

 

Wilson School has adopted the “Team Teach” approach to managing student behaviour. All staff members receive professional development in this method. The Team Teach philosophy identifies situations and actions which trigger negative reactions for some students. This allows staff members to defuse or  de-escalate situations before students go into crisis.

For students  who require bahavioural support ‘positive handling plans’ are created. The Team approach helps to create a learning environment which is a safe place for students and staff.

Where necessary the school involves a psychologist to provide additional strategies for behaviour change.
