The classroom is where learners can gain knowledge of their local community and the world around them. It is essential that we extend this learning with real experiences outside the classroom. Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) is an essential and integral part of our curriculum at Wilson School as we believe EOTC brings the curriculum alive and enriches students learning experiences. EOTC provides a change in physical space, social dynamics and interactions that have a huge impact on student engagement and motivation.
We utilize our local community facilities such as local supermarkets, swimming pools and gyms as they are fantastic places that offer authentic learning experiences to engage students and connect with the local community. These outdoor learning experiences stimulate student curiosity and support them to gain more knowledge of the world around. At Wilson we strive to give the learners positive experiences both inside the classroom and outside to support their learning and prepare for living as responsible citizens in their community.
